Half Gone or Halfway There? How to Finish 2025

Hard to believe we’re halfway to 2026… but here we are staring at the end of a summer that just began. Time is like that. A season, a year, a lifetime waits on no man, woman, child. Kids don’t circle around mom for long. They move on sooner than seems right… just like time. And just like life. We’re not waxing too philosophical here, but the halfway mark is always time for reflection.

Just a Number

Not everyone enjoys season after season to search for life’s meaning and do what need be done. Deer, for example, have an average life span of…? You know that figure is nowhere near human life expectancy, which in 2025, without respect to gender or country and which web site is to be believed… is 73.5 years. Yes, they live into their 80s in Europe, but 60s in less developed regions, thus, the overall low-70s expectancy. Move to Asia or the Alps if you think regionality will get you to their mid-80s number and understand the U.S is still south of 80.

Your Number

What’s the point? Deer have an overall 4.5 year life expectancy. They don’t waste it. Who knows how or what deer process, but you won’t find them sidetracked, self-consumed, failing to meet life’s demands. Just try to get close enough to them to find out otherwise. Instinct likely drives them away from the next vehicle, hunter or beast in the woods that will do harm to their offspring or number. They don’t always win via their no-fight flight, but some that do might be around for ten or even twenty years.

No Headlights…You’re Halfway There

Meantime, we’ve got the second half of 2025 to achieve, enjoy, change as we dodge whatever obstacles or evils that may be out there. Maybe like the deer, we shouldn’t live pondering the next set of headlights. Rather, use the illumination, some thankfulness and a touch of faith to steer ahead. Whatever the first half of 2025 did or did not deliver, there’s still time.
